Purist Honors Black History Month, Teaches Self-Evolution with Best Selling Author Christy Whitman, and Discovers 'Gwallee' or Self-Care at AIREM.
In honor of Black History Month, Purist celebrates the works of Black artists. We encourage learning, listening, and supporting Black-owned businesses throughout the world of wellness and beyond—not just this month, but every day. As the great humanitarian and civil rights leader the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “The time is always right to do what is right.”
The overarching theme for this year’s Black History Month is “The Black Family: Representation, Identity, and Diversity,” according to the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, the organization that founded Black History Month. Purist’s regular “Lead With Love” series by photographer Cathrine White leans heavily into this theme. We encourage you to read through and celebrate the Black thought leaders who are spotlighted in this series.
